The Circle was formed in November 1978 to encourage and improve the making of
home-made wines and beers, and to provide a forum for social discussion.
THE MEETINGS are held on the third Monday of each month (except
August and December), at Thundridge Village Hall, Ermine Street, SG12 0SY, starting at 8pm.
The majority of the meetings are on wine or beer related subjects; however, we also have meetings of more general interest.

Those new to Winemaking are especially welcome; members of the club will always be happy to taste their efforts and answer
any questions about wine and beer-making.
Suddenly you have time on your hands. You need a new interest which you can do at home. How about homebrew? It is easy to
get started and if you need any help or advice, just get in touch. Have a look at our
beginners and improvers page for some initial guidance on our
rewarding hobby.

In recent years, Ware Wine and Beer Circle gave a series of wine master classes, aimed at both beginners and
those who wish to improve their wine making. For further details, visit the Master Class page.
Each year, the club runs its unique Computerised Wine Drive. Members compare bottles of home-made wine and the
scores are fed into the computer. A commercial bottle is also included in the comparison. Remarkably, the commercial wine has now won
six times! This has been running for over 35 years, and was featured in Amateur Winemaker Magazine in May 1984.
There was also an earlier article in Amateur Winemaker regarding a wine drive in
April 1974 from a member of Richmond Wine Circle.
